Origin & Trivia:
“Tenhou” literally means “Heaven’s Harmony.” In classical philosophy, heaven represents fate itself.
A win before anyone touches a tile was seen as a divine decree. Historically, such automatic-wins
echo the idea of “tenmei” — a destiny granted from above. In mahjong culture, Tenhou is regarded
as the purest form of victory, entirely untouched by human decision.
